10 Factors Which Present Inconclusive Evidences as Causes of Obesity

Despite the global prevalence of obesity, there is no universal agreement about the best dietary practice to sustain a moderate or favorable body weight. Diets containing low percentages of carbohydrate and high percentages of protein result in greater quantity of weight loss (on a short term basis). Based on the results obtained from studies, diets containing a lower percentage of vegetables, fruits, grains and fiber – long with a higher percentage of fat – are likely causes obesity and weight gain. However, a lot of research still needs to be carried out in order to understand the dieting patterns of people with moderate or favorable body weights, who live within communities that consist of a large number of obese and overweight people.

One general question that keeps on popping up – is: “how can weight be controlled?” Does effective control depend on the place and time people consume their food? Is it more difficult to control weight if fast-foods are consumed in place of home-made foods? These questions and many others, linger on in a vast number of minds. Unfortunately, both scientific and non-scientific research do not have spot-on answers which could be all-encompassing replies to the myriad number of questions related to weight gain and obesity. From a look at most research findings, the available evidences contain words like: “could, likely, probably, unknown, etc.”; and phrases such as: “to some extent,… ; it is possible that… ; it is generally very difficult to state that… ; there isn’t enough proof to say that… ; etc. So what exactly should humanity believe in? Well, whatever you believe in, this list shines a spotlight on inconclusive, and sometimes – contradictory facts about the reasons for obesity:

1. Quantity of fat:

Most times, the argument about obesity – in relation to the quantity of fat within a diet – doesn’t lead to any reasonable consensus because a lot of issues are usually considered at once. On the other hand, it has been observed that epidemiological facts could have been affected by some degree(s) of bias which certainly originates from “somewhere” during any research. One example is when a blunt equipment is used in measuring dietary intake; another is when a significantly lesser frequency of reporting (about fat and energy intake) takes place in relation to obesity.

One particular study reported that the parameters considered in discerning the relationship between obesity and the quantity of fat intake – are assessed by proxy, and are thus – prone to error. The differences in the procedures used to evaluate the degree of obesity, as related to fat intake, reveal a lack of uniformity across several studies. In fact, there are different views about the role which fat intake plays in bringing about obesity. In terms of diet intake, there are still arguments about the effects of diet make-up on weight increase: this is an area that needs more research. However, there is unwavering proof from various controlled trials (during experimentation) – that a large intake of energy-heavy nutrients (foods) promotes an unhealthy increase in weight.

2. Quantity of Carbohydrate: Sugar (Monosaccharides and Disaccharides) and Non-Starch Polysaccharides (NSP):

Predominantly, sugars exist as monosaccharides and disaccharides which are present in syrups, fruit juice and honey. Carbohydrates, which are mainly polysaccharides, are either starch or Non-Starch Polysaccharides (NSP). Diets with heavy quantities of carbohydrates help to defend the body against weight increase. But, if a diet is high on sugar, does the same idea hold? Results from studies are in conclusive: as a matter of fact, research conducted on a large number of people indicates that individuals – whose total energy consumption is high – are “inclined to” consume large amounts of sugar.

Available evidence from one study showed that the glycemic (blood sugar level) indicator is strongly related to BMI (Body Mass Index) which is a parameter that expresses the degree of probability at which obesity can occur. This insight is coherent with the speculation that – with an increase in blood sugar level, a greater quantity of insulin is generated; leading to the suggestion that specific types of carbohydrates “may be” associated with weight increase. The information from this particular research was not in agreement with the findings from other studies which support a reduction of carbohydrate intake in order to successfully lose weight – as advised by other investigators. All the same, it is necessary to investigate further in order to find a strong relationship between carbohydrate intake and weight gain, or obesity.

3. Quantity of Protein:

The Atkins Diet, which is a diet that contains a lesser amount of carbohydrates, became very popular until people became worried about the risk involved in ingesting too much cholesterol and saturated fat – up to a point that it lost popularity and significance. Funny enough, the diet could not help its own advocator (Dr. Atkins) who became a victim of heart failure – at least – at one time during his life.

One publication in the Journal of American Medical Association (2012) revealed that proteins have an influential role to play in weight increase; although calories play a much greater role. Furthermore, the study reported that researchers divided healthy people into three categories and gave them diets in which 1,000 calories – along with varying degrees of protein – were added to. After eating, it was observed that the category of individuals who ate the least amount of protein – put on the least amount of weight, although there was a drop in the mass of their muscles, along with 90% of fat in the form of calories.

The two other categories of individuals who separately ingested high and normal amounts of protein, gained an equal amount of weight that was higher than the first category which ate the least amount of protein. However, what was evidently noticed is that the latter categories had an increase in the mass of their muscles instead of a decrease. Although that may sound baffling, the study revealed the following:

  1. Excessive eating leads to an increase in weight
  2. Protein intake leads to an increase in the mass of the muscles

iii. Diets that are short of protein can make an individual become fat. As you noticed, the category of people who ate the least amount of protein – put on the largest amount of fat.

There is a lot of misconception about the appropriate amount of protein that should be consumed in a healthy diet. Some people are of the opinion that we already ingest too much, while others feel that any amount of protein we ingest is not too much.

4. Quantity of Alcohol:

Alcohol, which is an energy-heavy nutrient, has the ability to raise the quantity of fat stored in the body to a substantial degree. Regardless of available evidence indicating the benefits associated with a light intake of alcohol (in relation to obesity and body weight), various studies have shown contradictory evidences. Studies on food consumption reveal that energy generated from alcohol, adds up with the energy from food intake to produce a sum total of energy which only increases when more alcohol is consumed.

Generally, recorded proof from some studies reveals that moderate consumption of alcohol doesn’t lead to an increase in weight. In some instances, it’s quite true that the surplus amount of energy intake related with weight increase in some people – was likely due to alcohol consumption. Nonetheless, the existing proof is contradicting and handicapped by significant restrictions which make it difficult to put to rest the argument that alcohol consumption leads to obesity. Coupled with a healthy eating style (that won’t lead to weight increase), a light or moderate consumption of alcohol is recommendable.

5. Breastfeeding:

Breastfeeding has been considered a strong measure against weight increase during childhood. A number of studies have shown that children who breastfeed are less likely to become obese in their childhood than those children who don’t; while other analytical studies revealed evidences which were contradictory.

Fat (or excessively fat) children are likely to carry their fatness into adulthood. An evaluation of 18 studies (carried out on almost 20,000 people) revealed that – in some studies – a link was discovered between breastfeeding and certain forms of obesity which might have occurred later on. A research on 9,367 children showed that obesity was predominant among 2.8% of children who breastfed, while it was higher (4.5%) among children who never breastfed.

After that evaluation, another published study revealed that – in a research carried out on a number of boys and girls in the USA (above 15,000 in number), between the ages of 9 and 15 – a drop of about 20% was observed in their likelihood of becoming overweight. This figure was only related with the population that breastfed regularly within the first six months of their lives.

6. Nutrition Level at Birth:

The amount of weight a new born baby has at birth – indicates the quality of nutrition it had in its mother’s womb. A survey on the forecasting of obesity showed a logically consistent connection between birth weight and the risk of becoming overweight, as a kid, or as a grownup. A research on more than 2,000 pregnant women (who gave birth later on) revealed that the children of women who put on an excessive quantity of weight – had, at least – four times the chance of becoming overweight at the age of three than children of women who gained an amount of weight that was “not adequate enough”.

Another study carried out on children in four countries (Brazil, China, Russia and South Africa) between the ages of 3 and 9 years, proved that children who experienced stunted growth, had a higher probability of becoming overweight than children who didn’t experience stunted growth. The speculation that intrauterine and childhood under-nutrition produces excessive weight during adulthood – is an important one. Nonetheless, the degree to which they are associated, are evidently complicated, and existing data are not significant enough to make a single general statement on the issue.

7. Restricted Eating, Dieting and Bingeing Patterns:

While it may be agreed upon that restrictive eating is likely required to keep away obesity in circumstances where an ever-available supply of food is tempting, some people who actually succeed in restricting themselves to some extent, may end up eating out of control.

Research has shown that the probability of becoming overweight is lesser in those people who practice a flexible restrictive eating pattern; while the probability of becoming overweight is higher in those people whose practice of restrictive eating is too rigid. Excessive eating, and the habit of eating late in the night – are often associated with rigid restrictive eating. Various studies have pointed that – although the connection between dissimilar eating practices and obesity “is complex to figure out,” it is generally agreed that excessive eating is usually associated with obesity.

8. Eating Outside the Home:

The rate at which people eat outside their homes is rising rapidly in the western world, and is properly recorded in the USA. Research in the USA has shown that a rise in the rate at which people eat outside the home, and the amount of money people use in eating away from their houses, has occurred simultaneously with widespread incidences of obesity.

It has been observed (in the USA) that food prepared outside the home has a greater amount of fat, total energy, sodium and cholesterol: also, it contains a lesser amount of calcium and fibre, and is typically inferior in nutritional quality than food prepared at home. These variations and differences in the composition of food – are probable reasons for the prevalence of obesity in the USA. Another observation is that people who eat outside the home more, have a higher body mass index (BMI) than those who eat at home more. In relationship with obesity, the evidence which shows that there is a risk involved in eating food outside the home, is highly associated with the USA; but it can be generalized on other countries where the same practice occurs to some considerable extent. In Asian countries, people are not likely to gain weight if they eat outside the home: in fact, it is unknown whether obesity is related with eating outside the home.

9. Frequency of Eating Snacks:

It is relevant to consider the composition of snack foods, and how a rise in the rate of eating snacks leads to becoming overweight. There is sufficient proof from the USA, that the rate at which people eat snacks is rising: also, the energy density and total energy in snack foods is increasing, with snacks taking up between 20 and 25% of the total energy in the body system of people who reside in the UK and USA. Even so, there isn’t enough proof to say that a higher rate of eating snacks would lead to obesity. In cases where there is little evidence, it rather shows that the frequent eating of snacks – fights against weight increase. Notwithstanding, the high concentration of energy in snacks may do the contrary, by promoting weight increase.

10. Environmental Issues:

Nowadays, it can be observed that fast-food shops are gaining more popularity (and control) over supermarkets, especially in the western world. At the same time, high-calorie foods are being widely advertised and vigorously marketed. The increasing causes of obesity in any environment surrounding people are probably a major factor for any outbreak in the spread of obesity. The surroundings in which groups of human beings live are quite complex, and individuals — with various types of eating auras, have a great influence on other people’s eating habits in schools, restaurants, homes and fast-food shops.

A great deal of proof available about the effect(s) of the environment on eating and obesity (or weight gain) can be obtained from past research. Although, typically peaking – it’s difficult to pick out particular environmental influences. The same declaration can be made about environments in which people are not physically active. The increasing use of cars and machines in place of physical work associated with daily labor – are a few of the prevailing factors which influence people towards physically inactive lifestyles. Cases of obesity and weight gain have been observed to be higher among children who watch videos and television more.

ADVICE: MAKE MORE EFFORT TO PREVENT, THAN TO CURE

Prevention is very important in health, and also – in many other areas of life. Effective prevention involves the recognition of symptoms, and the implementation of preventive measures, before the symptoms turn into problematic conditions. There are ways you can use to find out whether your body and health are becoming unhealthy. Most problems we see could have been easily prevented by taking certain steps. It’s never too late to start practicing anything that can keep you healthy; so consider some preventive steps below:

i. Don’t Eat When you are Not Hungry

Research has shown that people who have moderate or light weight, are – slim, moderate or thin, because they only eat when they are hungry: when there is that need to eat. It’s advisable to eat – only when your body communicates the need for it.

ii. Take Healthy Diets

Everybody can align their diets with FDA standards, as it is one of the best ways to prevent obesity. The FDA advises that each individual should eat 2,000 calories per day; which should include foods like, milk, meat, vegetables, fruits and legumes in their diets.

iii. Do Not eat Junk Food

Although junk foods are difficult to resist, try your best to do away with them. Be wise enough to avoid eating any junk food because it’s one of the easiest ways to lead to obesity.

iv. Drink a lot of Water

Water detoxifies and cleanses many impurities within the body. Don’t allow it to contain sugar or any sweetening substances. The FDA advises that an individual should take between 8 to 10 glasses of water per day.

v. Monitor Your Weight

Measure your weight at least once every week so that you will be convinced it is within a healthy range. If you find out that it is increasing beyond an acceptable limit, then that is the exact time you need to start taking steps to lose some of it. If you notice your weight is getting on the high end, then you may have to reduce the amount of food you eat; or start doing more exercise than before.

vi. Make it a Habit to be Regularly Active

One of the best ways to prevent obesity is by living an active lifestyle. There are so many ways to be active; take a walk, run, ride a bike, practice yoga, etc. A lot of people like going to the gym, but that’s not so necessary.

vii. Go for a Medical Check-up, at Least Once in a Year

Medical associations and all doctors advise that people should go for medical tests, at least once a year; in order to detect whether there are any problems, or symptoms related to the occurrence of a greater problem which might occur in the future. If any problem is detected, a doctor can easily tackle it before it becomes serious.

Your Outcome in Life Is Determined By What You Believe in; Faith or Fact

In Christian Bible, 2nd Corinthians 5:7 says: “For we walk by faith: not by sight”. The literal meaning of the above scripture is that we are meant to live our lives; make progress and carry out actions based on faith – which is the ultimate and unseen reality. Don’t live your life on the basis things which you can only see with your physical eyes. “Faith”, which is the ultimate truth, belongs to the spiritual world; while “facts” are only limited to the physical world which we see with our eyes. Faith is superior to, and stronger than fact! Fact is temporal and changeable but faith (truth) is eternal and unchangeable. Even history has shown that fact can become untrue, without divine or supernatural intervention. For example, it was a fact many years ago that malaria had no cure and many people died because of it; but that is no longer true today.

In the past, it was considered a fact that iron could neither fly nor float: but today, heavy tons of iron (in steel form) are floating and flying from one part of the world to the other in the form of ships and aircrafts – carrying both people and cargo wherever they wish to go to. In the past, there were no drugs for the cure of several diseases, but today there are so many types of drugs. If time can alter fact, how much more will your faith in destroy fact – in an instant! Despise all facts, and rather believe in the truth. Your physical experiences or that of other people should not guide your life’s journey. Believe in the ultimate truth about the supernatural ability that God gave man to turn unfavorable circumstances into favorable ones. Allow your faith and belief to guide you towards your God-given destiny.

The scripture in Romans 10: 17, the Bible says that: “The just shall live by faith”. This faith is based on how God sees ease and solutions to every situation and difficulty in this physical world. The scripture didn’t say that the just shall live by experience, night dreams, personal wisdom, skill or expertise! It said that the just shall live by faith! Many people elevate their experience, personal wisdom and skills above faith, ultimate truth and the power of God – to the extent that they constantly dwell in the realm of frustration and dissatisfaction. We have stated that ultimate truth is superior to fact, and a lot of people know that the real battle of a man lies between fact and truth. What is the difference between them? Well, fact is a natural reality which has evidence only to the physical senses; i.e. you can see, hear, feel, smell or touch it. Faith (or truth) on the other hand, is supernatural or spiritual reality; and is not always obvious to the body’s senses, i.e. – you might not be able to sense faith physically – but it’s real. The fact might be that – based on experience and expertise – there would be no hope, but the truth (faith) says: “launch out your heart with hope” and in many instances where faith was strong – the truth prevailed. Allow the truth to prevail in your life!

God’s Greatness: Within His Books and Everything Around You!

Most of the time, people likely don’t give any thought about God, and his greatness. They are too engrossed in their own activities, good or bad, to a point that they hardly think about the trees, birds, other beautifully created beings and objects created by God. Creation gives a clue to the greatness of God beyond what we can only see. Nowadays (arguably more than at any other time in history), mankind unconsciously and unintentionally takes the back seat when considering the common things of life. This causes them to close their own minds from seeing the greatness of God which is exposed through the simplicity of observing his creatures and his creation. In reality, the follower(s) of any religion (or believers in God), can sense much of God’s greatness by reading the contents of their respective “holy books” or “words of God”. A lot of mysteries and miracles (backed up with historical evidence), can be read and deeply felt from reading and meditating on those words in the holy books. Coupled with reading the words of God — is the intriguing experience of beholding the products of God’s amazing power; i.e. the tangible things you can see, hear and feel around you.

Over the ages, and up till this moment, the words in the “holy books” show a direct signpost from God’s creation — towards his immensely great power. From the time he created the first man, many of his followers (on a different page from those who disbelieve) gained extraordinary insight about God’s mysterious powers of manifesting his thoughts in physical forms. Saint Paul was loud and audible when he said: “since the creation of the world, the hidden characteristics of God have been clearly understood by the things he created around us”. Even stone-hearted disbelievers like Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar (just to name a few people who attempted to exalt themselves above God), were forced to accept God’s sovereignty when the chips went down. At the end of the battle between little Pharaoh and God, Pharaoh lost every important thing he had because he went against God’s order, by keeping the Israelites as slaves in captivity. When the sun set on the battle between tiny Nebuchadnezzar and almighty God, he (Nebuchadnezzar) was changed into another form, and driven away from people to eat grass like an ox.

One of the most touching stories in the Christian Bible, is the one that narrates how God spoke to Job out of a whirlwind; and what he (God) specifically told him (Job). Rather than being sorry and apologetic to Job for the hardship he was going through, God talked to him about the beauty in creation as expressed through various types of animals he (God) created. This story shows God’s own decision to direct and inspire man towards looking at the creative side of life, instead of concentrating on hardship. It seemed like God was indirectly telling Job to view his (God’s) greatness in order to gain the power to wipe away his (Job’s) own tears. Well, at the end of the battle against adversity, all of Job’s tears were wiped away. In truth, the mystery, greatness and splendor of God’s creatures, along with creation, should actually draw us closer to God: they should make us adore him and talk to others about him. Nowadays, you find that that’s not so much the case because a major part of mankind is too fixed on their “own” thing(s); forgetting that God made them as a part of the beautiful, and much bigger creation.

Talent is Only a Starting Point for Success: You’ve Got to Keep Working That Talent!

If you have a unique gift, or an unparalleled talent for doing something, then you’ll definitely be recognized and distinguished from the rest of the flock. In fact that gift of yours could place you on top of other people, and give you a great advantage that might last for a very long time to come. BUT talent is only a starting point in any business: you’ve got to keep working that talent! A song writer, Irving Berlin, understood the truth behind the words in the previous sentence when he said: “The toughest thing about success is that you’ve got to keep on being a success”. After gloriously climbing to the top, and reaching that enviable peak, if you lose focus, and slack, other serious people who are steadfast, would soon fly ahead of you.

One of the greatest writers in recorded history, Stephen Kings, once said: “Talent is cheaper than table salt. A lot of hard work is distinguishes a talented individual from a successful one”. The truth is that if you observe the lifestyle of hardworking people, you will also see a glimpse of hard work in many other aspects of their private life as well. You must have come across certain people who should have risen to the top, but they didn’t; they were in possession of all the talent a man could ever want, but they ended up NOT succeeding. Their talent made them to stand out – but their lack of integrity made them sit on the ground. Meanwhile, the stable integrity within other people (who were once at the bottom of the ladder), made way for them to overtake those at the forefront, and reach the top. The families, mentors, friends and bosses of fallen stars, often see their talent or giftedness but wonder why they keep falling short of expectations. At the starting point, their talent opened up doors for them, but wrong choices and a possible lack of integrity – shut those doors.

If you take time to consider the character and talent of Nehemiah in the Christian Bible, you’ll notice that he rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem’s within two months! It was actually an outstanding feat to achieve in that era of history: read further and notice how Nehemiah’s character and integrity stood out. While many of his peers indulged in fattening their pockets – by lending money at extremely exorbitant rates (which people couldn’t repay), he cautioned them to do the right thing so that the favor of God would come on their nation (read Nehemiah 5: 9). Furthermore, he said: “I did not act that way. I rather devoted myself towards completing the construction of the wall” (Nehemiah 5: 15 – 16). Later on, the character of the greedy merchants was found wanting, and their talent and business lost appeal and success at the same time. If you want to develop an attractive character and maintain success, do what is right, and just, as you keep on working out that talent.

In the Pursuit of Dreams, Along With Spiritual Development …

If we take a look at life from God’s position and perspective, we might be pushed to ask ourselves this big question — why are we here on Earth? What was God’s reason for placing us on Earth? Did we get here accidentally? Or, were we intentionally designed with a specific purpose which is different from what we think? Many people and many religions agree that our reason for being here has a unique purpose. One of the major purposes for being here (on Earth), is to locate your own destiny by consistently striving to find out what you were born to do; and then — go all out to fulfill it. By achieving fulfillment and greatness, we’ll certainly be able to contribute our own quota to the welfare and destiny of mankind; and the world at large. Another major purpose for being here — is to continuously develop spiritually as we travel on our everlasting journey of spirituality.

Unfortunately, the minds of most people tend to lead them astray, and into a direction which doesn’t come from the bowels of their hearts: this distracts them from finding the true purpose of their lives. Most people often think that money, power, success, fame and popularity will create an eternally happy lifestyle for them, and so they vigorously pursue these desires. Other types of people chase these dreams while simultaneously seeking spiritual development: this is the best option because you’ll be using one stone (life on earth) to kill two birds (your dreams, and spiritual development). The pursuit of spiritual development along with enlightenment about our destiny, would give us a peaceful state of mind, and make us feel more relaxed and calm. Our purpose in life is related to a considerable extent — with seeking spiritual enlightenment about God, his ethics and his kingdom. If our spirits are not sufficiently inspired and motivated, we’ll find it difficult to awaken the perception about our life’s purpose. A major key towards realizing spiritual development and enlightenment, is to follow your intuition – your spiritual thinking – your heart. We have to find out our purpose in life, and live it to the fullest – from deep within our souls. Living our life in this manner will imbibe stillness within our minds; and then, we’ll naturally be able to let go of negative emotions, hopelessness, fear, guilt, malice and false beliefs which normally preoccupy the human mind.

If we become successful in making the pursuit of spirituality – a habit, our minds will automatically tune into a greater reality which can help us achieve a stabilized level of spiritual enlightenment and continuous spiritual development. In summary — locate your life’s purpose. If you can succeed in doing so, then you won’t have much to worry about; and you will be contented with everything you have, no matter what position you are in life. Everyone has to learn how to let go of bad memories often associated with the past: don’t harbor them within your minds. In dropping the odds and negatives, our minds will gradually become more still as time passes by. Also, we have to develop a personality that can’t be negatively influenced by the outward (material) changes so often associated with life. In so doing, our minds will become less affected by any change in external situations. Another important thing to do is to rid ourselves of fear(s) associated with a lack of faith. This fear often keeps many people away from moving towards the direction of their destinies. Such negative traits prevent us from believing in God, the spiritual world, and eternity.

True Prosperity Depends on How Well You are Connected With God

Any human being who is genuinely connected with God (the creator of all things), would have ultimate peace and true prosperity. God is spirit! We can’t see him! In fact, his invisibility makes many people feel like he doesn’t exist. But he’s there! Right out there! He’s connected with men and women who also play (or played) their own little part in maintaining that strong connection. Through the ages, God has been close to quite a number of people, too many for us to recall from history; but one important thing to take note of – is that – irrespective of any challenges encountered, irrespective of any attempt(s) that enemies put up against those connected with God, they conquer at the end of the day. Another remarkable quality that people of God have, is that genuine feeling of rest, peace, and sense of fulfillment – which they can’t have otherwise. Their foundation doesn’t rest on material things: on the material aspect of creation. Anything that has a foundation outside of God is just temporal vanity, and would pass away or cease to exist from a particular date in the near future. Whatever anyone has, no matter how small it may appear in the eyes of other people, it would always be sufficient to accomplish every plan that God has called or destined for that person to carry out in this world.

Everything that God gave everyone at birth, and while they are alive, is a seed which has to be sown, fertilized, continuously catered for, and groomed to maturity. We must prosper if we have the mind-set that – with what we were given – we can efficiently accomplish God’s purpose for our lives. Plant your seed and it must produce a bountiful harvest, good or bad. True prosperity and abundance are beyond the acquisition of material possessions: it isn’t defined by the number of cars, industries, houses, lands, assets, women, or property that anyone has; otherwise those who have the largest amount of material possessions in the world, would always be the most happy, joyful and fulfilled people. Unfortunately, most materially successful personalities haven’t been so happy, neither have they felt inwardly fulfilled in their lives.

Read through history and you will observe that a lot of popular people, with an abundance of “earthly possessions,” have had high blood pressures, gone nuts, or even committed extreme acts like suicide! Many of them have been dependent on drugs in order to try and control their minds and feelings. These few descriptions show that man cannot depend solely on what he externally possesses – if he wants to have real joy and livelihood! Many people who have/had great possessions, were really empty on the inside; if not they wouldn’t resort to empty remedies like drugs and suicide. The treasures of this world all have their expiry dates. And really, not all that glitters is gold. There are many men and women who have been frustrated in life because they measured themselves by the world’s symbols of prosperity. In all your prosperity, or lack of it, let your total dependence be on God, then you’ll have everlasting treasures that no amount of money can buy.

Traits That Can Kill The Attraction A Man Has For A Woman

Similar to how women test men is the fact that men have the instinct of testing women as well. Most men test women so as to know – in time – how a particular lady might react towards certain conditions. The manner in which a lady responds to the tests a man throws at her, reveals how matured or patient she can handle the relationship on the long run. Unfortunately, many of these tactics reveal the bad side of most women and end up killing the initial attraction a man might have for a woman. There are certain things a lady must be thoughtful about, and put into practice in order not to kill her chances with a man she likes.

Any lady should avoid being jittery or jealous about other ladies. Many quality men lose attraction for any lady who makes it a habit of being intimidated or jealous of other women. It’s a great turn-off for men! Being intimidated exposes how low your self-esteem is before a man, and it goes on to show that you are not satisfied with your own self. It further radiates the fact that you are insecure to such a point that you habitually envy other ladies. Quality women are not intimidated or jealous about anybody or anything, and this makes them to have a high self-esteem. Don’t make a habit of totally neglecting your professional duties or commitments because of a man. A lot of women put too much effort into dating; they finally end up losing their career or focus in life. Don’t lose yourself into any relationship to an extent whereby you only think about a guy and his life – most of the time.

Many women make a great mistake when they always expect guys to forfeit their professional duties, in order to spend their time with them. Some of them think that a man is supposed to call them all the time; and they actually start to feel anxious when he doesn’t do what they expect him to do. Such an attitude only ends up killing the available attraction because the man feels no breath of fresh air or freedom in the relationship. Another attraction-killer can be created when a woman doesn’t have the capability to put her money-making life, or financial independence, in order. This could contribute greatly to a lady becoming or being emotionally unstable. It’ll also make the man to head towards an opposite direction, or quit the relationship altogether.

As a lady, do your utmost best to have a life of your own, and don’t always expect a man to cater for your life. If you don’t strive to be a little bit independent, a guy will get to feel the burden you create when you totally rely on him. It’s a sad fact that a lot of women regularly expect things from a man; things which they could easily obtain for themselves. A woman will feel happier and have high self esteem when she automatically takes care of most things in her own life. This will make her to naturally radiate inner strength, and become a more emotionally balanced individual who is naturally attractive to any quality man.
